Where I serve

After three years serving at Virginia Tech and James Madison University, I have been called to serve on FOCUS’ National Team. In June 2022, I stepped into the role as Portfolio Manager for the East Area. Now instead of being the direct hands and feet on campus, I am able to assist those hands and feet with the resources they need to serve the students. I am pleased to be able to continue the Kingdom of God through my gifts of organization, development, and communication.

A great joy of my job is being able to see the transformation of benefactors, just like you, who store their treasure in Heaven, instead of on this earth. I have the privilege in walking with even more people in their journey to faith then even before!

Below is a picture of my husband and I while we served at JMU together, as well as the teams that I served on the last three years.

My husband Peter and I got married in December 2021. Surrounding us is our bridal party made up of FOCUS missionaries, FOCUS students, and peers that became our best friends! This is lifelong mission. We are so blessed to have these striving saint pals on this side of Heaven! We are so thankful for the gift FOCUS has been in our own lives- we love sharing that same gift with others on mission.

My Story

When I was working my 9-5 job after college, I was overwhelmed by the deep brokenness I saw in the young adults I was befriending. In college my FOCUS missionaries showed me a way of living that was greater and more beautiful than just surviving. This past year God has put a desire on my heart to serve with the organization that helped me encounter Him and His great love and mercy for me. I am serving as a FOCUS missionary to interrupt the lives of students to show them the great adventure God desires for them, as many have done for me in the past.

I met Catherine when she was a freshman and I was a sophomore. She was in my Bible Study that I led as a student for three years. Hannah was my FOCUS missionary when I was a senior in college. Her friendship and love for the Lord helped me to become the woman I am today. We are all now FOCUS missionaries and are best friends to this day, bringing more and more women across the country into our Christ-centered friendships.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.
