Hi! My name is Emma and I am a FOCUS missionary on the East Area Team!

Where I serve

For my first two years, God called me to serve as a missionary on campus at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA. Now going into my 4th year as a missionary with FOCUS, I will be serving for a second year as a Program Director for the East Area Team, which serves campuses in the Northeast region of the country!

In this role, I support the East Area Team as a whole in planning, logistics, and administrative tasks, as well as working closely with a handful of Regional Directors within FOCUS who oversee campuses in states from North Carolina all the way up into Maine!

Although I am no longer serving as a missionary on campus or working directly with students, my efforts in this more behind-the-scenes role have the potential to greatly impact the students on the 48 college campuses that the East Area serves!

My Story

I first encountered Christ when I got to college and met the Catholic community – the Catholic Owls – at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). At this point in my life, I had no knowledge about the Catholic faith, but what struck me about the people in this community was their authenticity and intentional effort to get to know me. You simply can’t find that anywhere else on a college campus, and before my encounter with the Catholic Owls, I genuinely struggled making friends. It was through my formation and experiences with this faithful group that I grew to know and love Christ, eventually entering the Catholic Church when I was Confirmed in the Spring of my junior year. Since then, I’ve taken every possible step closer to Christ and He has led me to some amazing places!
