My Story

My life was transformed when I encountered the Lord’s love during college at Fort Hays State University. Growing up in a Catholic community, I knew that I was loved and that God loved me, but I never experienced a personal and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. I came into college searching for relationship and pursuing friendships that didn’t fully satisfy me, and I believed that “checking the boxes” in my faith life was enough to get me through and bring me joy. Throughout my freshman year of college, I began to lose sight of what made me good and what my reasons were of denying earthly temptations. It wasn’t until my second year at FHSU that I truly learned the joy of living a life integrated with Christ.

My second year at FHSU, I joined a FOCUS Bible study, with zero experience and no idea of where it would lead me. During this year, I was encountered by the FOCUS missionary leading the study, and she invited me into personal, authentic friendship and asked if I wanted to make Jesus Christ the center of my life. I said yes, not fully knowing what that entailed, but knowing that life with Jesus at the center would be life fulfilled. After that moment, I began to learn how to spend time with Jesus in personal prayer. It was through countless quiet, fruitful, and even dry adoration hours where I encountered the relationship the Lord had waiting for me, and the community of Christ-loving people that came with it. This is where He showed me my identity as a beloved daughter of God and my true desires to live in union with Him.

Once I experienced this love and joy that living a life of Christ offered, I wanted to find other young women who I, like my FOCUS missionary, could invest in and show them the love waiting for them. Throughout my senior year, I felt the call to surrender everything and give my life to Jesus in a new way. It was through this surrendering that I knew the Lord was calling me to be a FOCUS missionary, so yet again, I said YES!

Your Impact

When I said yes to join FOCUS, I said yes to relying solely on the financial and spiritual support of mission partners. It’s because of generous partners like you that I will have the opportunity to be a witness to Jesus Christ and show others His power of transformation! My story as a college student is not one of few, it’s one that many students experience in this time of their life. As partners in this mission, you will be helping me encounter college students at a vulnerable point in their lives, and working to fulfill the Great Commission of souls!

If you are interested in joining me on mission through your support or hear more about what my college ministry will look like, I would love to meet up with you, either in person or on the phone! Please reach out to me via phone or email and we can set up an appointment.

I couldn’t do this without you! Let’s change lives!
