I am beyond excited to start serving the students at the
University of Memphis in Tennessee in August! My team and I cannot wait to bring these students closer to Christ and become free and confident in their identity as sons and daughters of God.

I grew up in the small town of Houma, Louisiana about an hour south of New Orleans. Living in South Louisiana, I grew up in a cradle Catholic family that always put Mass first and large family lunches as a close second. My younger life was spent helping my parents work retreats and host events at our local parish and led me to become very strong in my faith as I grew up to confirm.

However, once I started attending Nicholls State Univeristy, I realized pretty quickly that while Mass was a nonnegotiable with my family, the freedom of college allowed mass to become a whole lot more negotiable.  Eventually I allowed my faith to turn stale and stopped attending mass all together. Slowly but surely my life turned towards more worldly views and ambitions, and I allowed my job and friends to rule my life rather than the One who matters most. Fortunatley, in my sophmore year, I was invited to a wonderful retreat hosted by my college’s Catholic center called Awakening. It seemed that my life finally found meaning again. I was able to set all of my heartbreak and worries aside and I just gave everything to the Lord. From there, I recentered my life on Him. I started to pray more, invested in faith-filled friendships, and even started to attend the student-led mass on my campus. I was invited to a Bible study by a wonderful friend, leading me to actually read my Bible. Now, after a year of growth, I lead my own Bible studies and lead other girls in how to deepen their relationship with Christ.

A year ago I just felt this deep desire to show other people how beautiful Christ’s love is for us. I also longed deeply to have a deeper connection and relationship with the Lord. I had four amazing FOCUS missionaries on my campus that truly showed me intimate friendships and how to say a full yes to the Lord every day. The more I asked the Lord for signs of where He wanted to lead me, the more this image of Jesus telling Peter to feed His sheep and tend to His flock came up. Something about this verse just really spoke to me as someone who longed to be a school teacher for so long, but desired even more to teach others about God and His unexaplainble love for us. After months of talking with my FOCUS missionaries, I took a large leap and applied to follow in their footsteps of living out the call of The Great Commission. I’ve happliy accpeted a position as a FOCUS missionary and pray that I can continue to follow the Lord voice as He guides me to reach as many souls as I can!

Being on mission fulltime gives me the freedom to be radically available to my students. But this would not be possible without the support of some very dear friends who have joined my mission by financially and spiritually supporting me. I believe that God desires every person to share the Gospel and make Him known, however, He does not call us all to do that in the same way. I am so grateful to be able to provide an opportunity for others to go on mission without ever leaving their homes!
