We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” – Mark 8:36
I will be serving my first year as a Focus missionary in Denver, Colorado with the Bosco Project, as well as helping serve 3 different universities under the Auraria Campus.
Like many other college students, I went to school excited for the ‘college experience’. The world will tell you its everything and more that a college kid is looking for. It turns out, its just about everything wrong with the world today. My college experience was led by a multitude of wrong choices and a sinful way of life. This led to unhappiness, lack of true joy and meaning in my life, and countless personal sufferings and sufferings of others at the hands of my actions. I had no where else to turn but to God. As I began my renewed faith journey going to Bible studies and on campus daily mass and catholic events, I realized just how wrong that way of life is, and the hope and joy of the life Christ offers. This was very evident in the people I encountered at Our Lady of Wisdom in Lafayette, La, especially through the Focus Missionaries on campus. These missionaries took me under their wings and set an example on how to be a true man of Christ. Without Focus being on UL’s campus I would have never got this opportunity to allow God to truly transform my mind, heart and life; and to begin to help do so to those around me and of those who I will encounter on campus.
When I look back at how my story turned out, I would have never been reached by that missionary if it weren’t for his mission partners that financially enabled him to come to Lafayette, Louisiana. Mission partners share just as much in the glory of reaching souls for the Kingdom of God as any missionary does. Our work could not be done if it weren’t for the men and women who enables us to do so, but most importantly neither of our works could be possible if it weren’t for every good gift that comes from God. It is only through the generosity of people like you that I can be radically available to minister to the students I encounter on campus. Thank you for joining this mission of helping bring others to Jesus Christ. If giving to this mission is something you believe God is inviting you to, please contact me at (985)-291-3932 or email me at [email protected]. May God Bless you and your family.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
