We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Do not let a day pass without doing some good during it”
-St. Philip Neri
I am very excited to be serving at the University of Lindenwood in Missouri. I’m looking forward to meeting the students in Saint Charles and getting to walk with them on their journey through their faith. Go Lions!
Here is my team, (left to right) Hannah, Sarah, Alex, and myself.
My story starts with being a cradle Catholic who went to a Catholic high school. At school we learned a lot about the faith but I never tried to know God or experience him. Mass was the same where I would consistently just go through the motions and I wouldn’t take much to heart about what was going on. I knew there was something real about the faith but didn’t dive into it.
This changed when I went to college and decided to go to mass on our first Sunday there. I filled out a little contact card with my info because I’m sure they were going to contact me about food events that I could show up to as I loved to eat. As I was leaving a FOCUS missionary named Dan Sasala started talking to me and invited me to join his bible study.
Through this I met with a bunch of great men and each week and talked about our faith. I participated but I still wasn’t taking much to heart until I went to a retreat in the fall of my sophomore year. Here in adoration on the final night of the retreat I finally opened up my heart to God and accepted him into my life… And then I fell asleep. But as I was waking up I felt God’s arms wrapped around and hugging me from behind. I also felt a warm feeling in my heart that I had never experienced before. After this moment I felt called to serve.
This call to serve started my journey in leading my own bible study, volunteering, helping out at church functions, and finally to accepting God’s call for me to be a FOCUS missionary. I am so excited to walk with students on their own journey in their faith and to help them find the love God has for them. I desire for all students to know that God doesn’t just want us to be “good people,” but he wants us to have a relationship with Him.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I knew that I couldn’t be on this mission alone. It is through spiritual and financial support from mission partners like you that the love of Christ can be shared with those who most need to hear it. This is where you come in! If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you!

“Some give by going to the missions. Others go by giving to the missions. Without both, there are no missions.”
– Saint John Paul II
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
