I grew up going to church on Sunday’s but never invested deeply into my faith. Going to college I made the choice to completely stop going to church. After two years and a longing to find more purpose in life, I went to the Newman Center on campus. I tried to walk to God on my own, doing my own thing, but I found slow growth, being self-reliant on my own ability to grow stronger in my faith. It wasn’t until a FOCUS missionary went out of their way to ask me if I wanted to join a bible study, that I really began to make progress. The FOCUS missionaries cared about me in a way that no other friends had cared about me before, I felt the Love of God through the missionaries He appointed. Growing in my relationship with God helped me realize that I too want to help others find their way back to our Father. I was once a lost sheep, and the Lord went out and found me, and he used his missionaries as a way to bring me back. I have no greater desire than to go out and do the same for others!
