We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Some give by going, others go by giving.” – Mother Theresa
Jacob served his first year as a full-time campus missionary at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and Mallory served her first year at Texas A&M University in College Station. We served our second year together at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and we are excited to return to Texas Tech for our third year on staff! And we are expected our first child this fall!
Jacob is from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and Mallory is from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We both attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia where Jacob was on the pre-med track and Mallory studied Nursing. Jacob met one of the FOCUS missionaries after Sunday mass during one of our first weeks on campus. That missionary invited Jacob to his to first ever bible study and quickly became a great friend and spiritual inspiration for him. Jacob attended FOCUS’ national conference, SEEK, where he was surrounded by thousands of other catholic college students and experienced a strong pull to dive deeper into his faith. His missionary continued to invest in him, teaching him how to pray, study scripture, and the importance of the sacraments. He eventually became a strong leader in our catholic community, mentoring other students, leading his own bible study, and altar serving. Also during our first weeks on campus, Mallory was approached by a protestant group on campus and got plugged into their bible studies and community. While she was growing in her relationship with Jesus, she eventually realized her friends were missing the fullness and beauty of Catholicism, so she started attending a FOCUS bible study and began meeting with one of the missionaries. It wasn’t until our senior year that we met each other after we both decided to apply to become FOCUS Missionaries! We both used to dream of becoming wealthy healthcare professionals and living a life of comfort. Now our greatest desire is to lead others to Christ and do whatever it takes to fulfill His great commission to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
When we answered the call to join FOCUS, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help us through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with us, please reach out to us and we would be happy to schedule an appointment to share more about our story and the work we are doing. We’d be honored to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
