Where I serve

I am beyond excited and blessed to serve as a first-year missionary at the University of Miami!

My Story

I was not raised under any religious affiliation growing up. I felt a pull on my heart to consider going to church before going to college, and by God’s providence, my college apartment was right behind the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More. I was invited to hang out and play sports with the Catholic Noles, where I met amazing people who radiated the joy of Christ. I continued to go to events, started attending Mass, and even got convinced to attend a Catholic retreat, where I got experienced the divine love that Jesus Christ has for me in such an intimate way through the Eucharist in Adoration.

Because of the loving Catholic community at Florida State, a growing faith in the Church and her wisdom, and most importantly God’s grace, I made the decision to become Catholic. I got to joyfully receive the sacraments of initiation that same school year on Easter, praise be to God!

I am very grateful for FOCUS for expanding to our campus my junior year. Through the Bible studies, discipleship group, and friendship that I had with my missionary, I formed a deeper and more personal relationship with Christ through a life of prayer and the sacraments.

I then felt a conviction that the joyful and fulfilling life with Christ is not meant to be kept to myself. “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” (Luke 8:16). That’s why I decided to serve as a FOCUS missionary, getting the opportunity to walk with the next generation in their spiritual journey with our good and gracious God!

Your great generosity allows me to commit myself fully to living mission on campus, sharing the Gospel and my own life in Christ with students in a radical way.
