We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hey! My name’s Joey. I am a Director of Collegiate Outreach with the North Area.
I serve as a Director of Collegiate Outreach for the North Area. I live in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, and oversee a total of 30 schools in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, and Ohio. I am going into my 12th year with FOCUS. Previous to my work with the North Area over the last 7 years, I have served at the University of Virginia, George Mason University, and on the East Area Regional Team.
I am from Bloomington Normal, Illinois. I went to Epiphany Catholic Grade School then on to Central Catholic High School. I was so blessed by a strong community back home that really helped to form my faith. I was very involved in Lifeteen in High School and that ultimately led me to Benedictine College. I graduated from Benedictine College in the spring of 2014 with a degree in Theology and a minor in Psychology. I was very involved in Student Government and FOCUS during my time as a student. I learned how important it was to share my faith with others and give them a faith centered friendship. In my life I was so incredibly blessed in hard times with these kinds of friendships, and I had the faith to draw strength from. All of this led me to a full time position with FOCUS. This adventure has been so rewarding and exciting.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
