Where I serve

IMG 0069 Original With a semester left of school, God has called me to serve Him deeper as a student missionary at UWL. As a student missionary, I am excited to reach students in ordinary ways in the classroom, sharing a meal, and playing games to show a life devoted to Christ lived out and the joy and love that flows from God. I plan to invite these students and friends to encounter God’s love for them through sharing His love story for us in Bible studies, Eucharistic adoration, and the sacraments! Which will be sustained by our team of missionaries and student leaders, whom we will win, build, and send sharing the Good News!

My Story

When I began college at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, I knew that I wanted to continue to go to church on Sundays, and I found the Newman Center. I saw the simple joy and kindness of the students and missionaries that I met through events like a “pig roast luau,” Tuesday night dinners (still my favorite), and activities after Thursday night mass. I said yes to joining a Bible study, and saw the loving desire that God yearned for my heart.

I sought happiness and acceptance in many things and found myself truly lost, but it wasn’t until an encounter with God in prayer that I was found. I found a greater love and realized the only relationship that could ever fulfill my heart was God’s love for me. It was through daily encounters at mass, retreats, and events like SEEK that I further encountered God’s love and presence in a powerful way through the Eucharist. I long to live out the adventure that God calls us on to share His love as a full-time missionary: to share the Gospel, to walk with others in faith, and to simply encounter people with a heart that leads them closer to Christ!
