We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
My name is Josh Funderburk. I have a beautiful wife, Lindsay and two wild little kids, Adeline and Benedict. We are extremely grateful to be serving as FOCUS Parish Missionaries at Christ The King in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and we are excited you are interested in becoming a mission partner. As a mission partner, you have an impact on everything we do. Your support helps us provide opportunities for others to encounter Jesus. We are praying for our mission partners each and every day and look forward to what God does through our team.
I have the privilege of serving at the Parish of Christ The King in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am so blessed with this assignment as this is the Parish I proposed to my wife at, got married at, baptized both children at, and initially got plugged in with FOCUS bible studies and discipleship. I look forward to serving the parish in a full time role along side the current team.
I grew up in a small town on the west side of Tulsa. When growing up, I attended a Baptist Church but was never very invested in my faith. I knew Jesus came down and died for our sins, but I knew nothing past that. When I went off to college, I joined a “non-denominational” Church which led me down another path of learning that “Jesus loves you and you should believe in Him”, but that was about it. It wasn’t until I met my wife, who introduced me to the priest at Christ The King and he, along with the RCIA director, challenge me to go deeper in my faith. I slowly fell in love with the faith and started to grow in my prayer life which led me to join FOCUS as a Parish Missionary.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
