I am in my 9th year with FOCUS! This will be my 3rd year serving as the Team Director at the University of Nevada, Reno. In two years of being on campus in Nevada, I am encouraged and humbled by what the Lord is doing through our mission work. Many students are attending weekly Bible studies and discipleship formation. Some students are even going to be ready to lead Bible studies of their own next year! I am also excited to continue doing athlete ministry with the Wolf Pack football team.

I serve alongside 3 full-time teammates, Elizabeth, Jarett and Monica. My favorite teammates, however, are my wife, Annie, and our three kids, Magdalena (5), Avonlea (2) and Elliot (9 months). We are all striving to grow closer to the Lord and bring as many people along with us in that journey.

I have been Catholic my whole life and the faith has always been an important part of my identity. In high school, however, I struggled with knowing exactly where I stood on the faith because I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. On numerous occasions I fell into sins of the flesh and had many difficulties with the Church’s teachings on chastity. When I got to college I began to encounter Christ in a personal way. I got involved in a bible study for the football team and was invited into a one-on-one mentorship by one of the FOCUS missionaries at Benedictine College. I began to fall in love with the Lord and to see Him as a friend I could count on for anything. That caused me to end a relationship I was in with a girl from home and to start running after Christ. I am now consecrated to Jesus through His Blessed Mother Mary, have a deep love and passion for sharing the Gospel, and am married to my best friend, Annie, who is helping me to follow Christ until the day I see Him in eternity.

I began to feel a call to be a laborer for the Kingdom of God my sophomore year of college when I began co-leading a bible study for the football team at Benedictine. With the help of my FOCUS missionary mentor, I learned how to share my faith with other men on campus. Sharing the Gospel and my very self with others was something that brought me great joy and fulfillment. As I came into my senior year of college I felt called to apply for FOCUS and serve as a missionary. Now, 9 years later, I still receive abundant joy as I continue to reach out to men on campus and help them encounter Christ so that they can go on to do the same for others.

I have personally been impacted by the ministry of FOCUS and have had the privilege of walking with students on their own faith journeys. The Lord is so good to those who open their hearts to Him.
