We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
I am in my 11th year as a FOCUS Missionary! It is wild to think about serving the Lord through FOCUS for over a decade. I have transitioned off of the college campus and will now be serving the parish community at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sparks, NV. In this new capacity I will be working alongside the parish staff to help reach young adults, assist in OCIA, walk with married couples and help out with other ministries. As I go about my work in the parish, I will continue to raise up missionary disciples within the parish by continuing to lead Bible studies and discipleship groups.
I am grateful to have the support of my family- my wife Annie and our children Magdalena (7), Avonlea (4) and Elliot (2). AND we are excited to welcome a new addition to our family in October! While I will no longer be serving on campus, I plan to stay in close contact with the FOCUS Missionary team at the University of Nevada, Reno, and collaborate with them so that we can raise up lifelong missionary disciples of Jesus in the Diocese of Reno.
Thank you for your willingness to join my family and me on mission! Your partnership means so much to us and is helping to build the church in Reno!
“My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” -Luke 1:46-47
I have been Catholic my whole life and the faith has always been an important part of my identity. In high school, however, I struggled with knowing exactly where I stood on the faith because I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. On numerous occasions I fell into sins of the flesh and had many difficulties with the Church’s teachings on chastity. When I got to college I began to encounter Christ in a personal way. I got involved in a Bible study for the football team and was invited into a one-on-one mentorship by one of the FOCUS missionaries at Benedictine College. I began to fall in love with the Lord and to see Him as a friend I could count on for anything. That caused me to end a relationship I was in with a girl from home and to start running after Christ. I am now consecrated to Jesus through His Blessed Mother Mary, have a deep love and passion for sharing the Gospel, and am married to my best friend, Annie, who is helping me to follow Christ until the day I see Him in eternity.
I began to feel a call to be a laborer for the Kingdom of God my sophomore year of college when I began co-leading a bible study for the football team at Benedictine. With the help of my FOCUS missionary mentor, I learned how to share my faith with other men on campus. Sharing the Gospel and my very self with others was something that brought me great joy and fulfillment. As I came into my senior year of college I felt called to apply for FOCUS and serve as a missionary. Now, 11 years later, I still receive abundant joy in helping others to grow in their faith. I cannot wait to see what the Lord does through my work in the parish!
YOU can have an impact on my fellow parishioners! Please join me in this beautiful work of spreading the Gospel to those who may not know about it. I have personally been impacted by the ministry of FOCUS and have had the privilege of walking with others on their own faith journeys. The Lord is so good to those who open their hearts to Him. Your prayers and financial support make it possible for many to enter into a relationship with the almighty and ever-living God! Thank you in advance for your generosity and openness to God’s work and may He bless you greatly.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
