This is my first year serving in FOCUS’ Internal Communications Department after serving two years as a missionary at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL (SIU E).

When I was on campus, I got to work closely with college students, accompanying them on the journey of their relationship with God.  Now, I get to work in FOCUS’ Internal Communications Dept. (a part of HR) to help staff and missionaries.  My mission in the Internal Communications Dept. is to make the lives of missionaries and staff easier by giving them the information they need efficiently, so they can focus on being a part of the mission instead of searching for information.

During the height of the pandemic, I thought more deeply about how I was living my life and realized that Christ was not in the center. I began to pray daily and realized that it was God who was leading me.  By listening to Jesus and staying close to Him, I was the most joyful and free I had ever been. God’s love is the greatest gift I have ever received! I wanted to lead others closer to God, through prayer and by pursuing their friendship. 

Jesus taught His disciples to pray, rely on Him, live virtuously, teach others about Him, and so much more. We have the same calling!  I know God put you and me on this earth to help others remain close to Him.  I feel honored that others get to partner with me to pray and provide for our mission to lead others to Jesus!
