Where I serve

The Lord has blessed me with serving the students at the Penn State University in State College, PA for my first year on mission! It is such a joy to walk with students in their journey towards Christ. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has planned!

My Story

Growing up in Northern California, faith was not a part of my upbringing. Attending a Catholic High gave me my first true exposure to Christ and I was deeply intrigued by the faith. My heart was being pulled toward the truth but feared the unknown. Quickly after starting my first semester at NYU, I entered OCIA. In April of 2023, I officially entered the Church. Praise be to Jesus! At this point, my conversion had been primarily intellectual. I recognized the truth of the Church, but Christ had not yet become the center of my life.

The radical transformation would begin upon transferring to the University of Virginia and meeting the FOCUS missionaries. I was pushed beyond my comfort zone, and for the first time in my life I saw what it was like to live with true joy. Little by little, daily mass and prayer became not only something I knew was good for me, but something I truly desired. It was in the understanding that Jesus is calling each one of us to an intimate relationship that I could rest in. Through my encounter with FOCUS, I learned to know the love of Christ and that my worth could not be tied to my accomplishments, but rather my identity as a beloved daughter of Christ.
