“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” – St. Catherine of Siena
God has called me to serve at the University of Akron in Ohio! Go Zips!!
The Team: Thomas Shaw, Brendan Parisot, Meghan Spangler, Kayla Hartman
As a college freshman I walked into the Newman Center looking to continue practicing my Catholic faith, but God had something even bigger in store; He invited me through the FOCUS missionaries and other students into a relationship with Him.
Jesus invited me into a relationship with Him and into a life that was filled with abundance. “I came so that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” (Jn 10:10) This abundant life was present in the community at my Newman Center as well as a life of prayer and the Sacraments.
As I was preparing to graduate college and the decision for what I would do after college approached, Jesus made it clear to me how He wanted to give me an abundant life. I said yes to being a FOCUS missionary where I can invite college students into the same intimate relationship with God that I was invited into.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you! We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
