We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hello, my name is Konnor Damery, beloved son of the Father, husband, father, and a Formator for the Bosco Project! Welcome to the Damery support page! 🙂
I serve as a Formator for the Bosco Project in the Diocese of Joliet, IL. I will be overseeing a house of young missionaries serving North Central College in Naperville, IL and Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, IL. Both of these campuses are expansion campuses for FOCUS this fall 2024.
My story begins when I was baptized as an infant at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Decatur, IL. I received Religious Education through 8th grade, but it was not until college that Christ became the center of my life. I finally found the joy and peace my heart longed for when I attended a Koinonia Retreat at the St. John Paul II Catholic Newman Center on campus at Illinois State. On my knees in Eucharistic Adoration, I heard God speak to me for the very first time saying, “Konnor… I am here, and I have always been here.” This was the beginning of a new trajectory for my life.
My perspective of Catholic worship radically changed when as I embraced the Church’s teaching of the TRUE PRESENCE of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. The sacraments, which used to feel like robotic gestures, suddenly became powerful expressions of God’s love. I was made new by God’s mercy and began my walk with Jesus at the age of 19. Around that time, I also met the one I would commit my life to in Holy Matrimony – Ayla is my closest companion in the Christian Life. So far, we have been blessed with 5 children – Rose and John Paul (In Heaven), Eden (2.5), Augustine (1) AND one baby on the way. We strive to be a family on mission, always seeking new ENCOUNTERS with the God who made us, redeemed us, and called us to follow him.
As a Formator for the Bosco Project here in our home Diocese of Joliet, I have the great opportunity to work with young men who have great desires to bring Christ to others.
All for the Heart of Jesus, through the Heart of Mary — Ite ad Ioseph.
Through prayer and financial support you can help us build God’s kingdom in 3 ways:
1) Stability for our Family – Our family mission is to cultivate a home in which our children can grow in holiness and learn how to be disciples.
2) Formation of New Missionaries – young men pursuing a call of mission work with FOCUS.
3) Formation of Future Seminarians – young men discerning a call to the priesthood with the Diocese of Joliet, IL.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
