The Damery Family

Hello, my name is Konnor Damery, and I am a beloved son of the Father, a husband, a father, and a Formator for the Bosco Project! Welcome to my support page! 🙂

Where We serve

I serve as a Formator for the FOCUS Bosco Project the Diocese of Joliet, IL. As a leader of a house of missionaries, we will be serving both North Central College in Naperville, IL and Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, IL. Both of these campuses are new expansion campuses for FOCUS this year – 2024.

Our Story

My story begins when I was baptized Catholic at 3 months old at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Decatur, IL. I went through religious education through 8th grade, receiving the sacraments of initiation, but it was not until college that Christ truly became the center of my life. After spending the first 3 semesters at Illinois State University searching for happiness, I finally found what I was looking for when I attended a “Koinonia Retreat” at our Catholic Newman Center on campus. I was on my knees in Eucharistic Adoration when I heard God speak to me for the very first time – “Konnor… I am here, and I have always been here.” For the first time, I understood the Lord was with me, and I have since come to understand that it is through the Church that he fulfills his promise: “I will be with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt 28:20).

This new understanding of the TRUE PRESENCE of Jesus in the Eucharist radically changed my perspective of the Faith. Suddenly, Catholic worship made sense and that which felt like empty gestures before, suddenly became gestures of love, overflowing with meaning. I was made new by the sacrament of confession and began my true walk with Jesus at the age of 19. Around that time, I also met the one I would commit my life to in Holy Matrimony. My dear Ayla has been at my side ever since and will continue to be this side of Heaven. We are blessed with 4 children – Rose, John Paul, Eden, and Augustine (Rose and J.P. are interceding from Heaven). We are a family on mission, always seeking adventure and new ENCOUNTERS with the God who made us, redeemed us, and called us to follow him.

Our newest adventure includes this position as a Formator for the Bosco Project here in our home Diocese of Joliet. Here we will welcome young men into our lives, and walk with them as they begin their new life as FOCUS missionaries. We cannot wait to see what God does in us and through us, AND through all who choose to partner with us in this great commission – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19).

All for the Heart of Jesus, through the Heart of Mary — Ite ad Ioseph.

Your Impact

By joining us in this mission through prayer and financial generosity, you will be building God’s Kingdom in 3 incredible ways:

1) Your support will immediately help provide stability for our family, the little Domestic Church which we will always prioritize first and foremost. Our mission is to cultivate a home in which our children can grow in holiness and learn how to be disciples.

2) Your support will free Ayla and I to give ourselves fully to the Bosco Project and the men involved in the formation process. This includes both new FOCUS missionaries who will be sent out to bring the Gospel to college campuses across the U.S. AND young men who are discerning a calling to the Priesthood in the Diocese of Joliet.

3) Finally, your support will advance the Bosco Project and the Mission of FOCUS on a national level, allowing more souls to be reached for Jesus Christ.
