“Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament … There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves upon earth.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien

Where I serve

I am honored and excited to serve at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!

My Story

Growing up in a Catholic and loving family as the youngest of 4, I was blessed to receive the Sacraments and a Catholic education, thanks to my amazing parents. This gave me a great foundation, morally and intellectually, but I lacked much personal conviction that Jesus actually loved me and could intricately be involved in my life. After being so inspired by my older siblings’ examples as they entered college and began to transform, I began to believe it was possible to live out my Catholic faith too in both a deep and practical way. As I entered college though, I still struggled through deep-rooted intellectual confusion and cynicism which shaped the way I viewed the world. Jesus brought me into the light, showing me that all things point to God’s loving existence, and He has created me for a great purpose, going so far as to die for me. The way I viewed the world shifted entirely, opening me up to greater capacity to love and understand others and the world. I attribute this shift to the love of Jesus through my family, friends, and my Focus missionaries, who invested selflessly and persistently in me to show me my worth. I was then able to experience the mission of Focus on my own, leading a bible study and discipleship group for other girls, who became so dear to me. I am thrilled to be called to mission full time, to learn not only how to love God and others better, but also to learn how to let God love me even more.

Your Impact

Throughout college, a busy workload, challenging major and coursework, social events and commitments, extracurriculars, jobs, and plans for the future pulled me in many directions. In other words, it can be difficult to choose to live out your faith in college given the circumstances. Having a missionary who was able to be generous with me in her time, gifts, and presence was an immeasurable part of my commitment to practicing my faith and staying on track. She could not have been there for me in the same capacity without the help of her mission partners. This mission is not possible without the support of others, both spiritually and financially. Though not everyone is called to Focus to serve physically on a college campus, we are all called to fulfill the Great Commission and share the Good News. I would be honored to have you on mission with me, whether through your prayers or financial support, in order to reach souls for whom Jesus thirsts.
