Hello! I’m Lauren Diiulio, a FOCUS missionary.

Where I serve

After serving two years at Hope College, I feel so blessed that I’ve been called to serve with FOCUS a third year as the team director at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. CHIRP CHIRP! Here, I lead the missionary team and walk with student-athletes in their faith journeys through Bible studies and discipleship. Pictured below is my awesome team!

My Story

Going in to college, I knew I desired to grow in my faith and be part of a strong Catholic community. I wanted Jesus to be at the center of my life, but I did not necessarily know how to grow in a deeper relationship with Him. I always thought that having a relationship with Jesus meant merely living a good moral life and doing the “right things”; however, once I got involved with FOCUS on my campus at Loras College, I was taught the importance of daily prayer and how to grow in divine intimacy. Through walking with the missionaries, going to Summer Projects, and growing alongside the incredible community God blessed me with, Jesus won over my heart in a new and more profound way than ever before. I not only continued to learn more about Him, but I grew to know Him on a deeply personal level through prayer and the sacraments. I recognized Jesus’ deep thirst for my soul and the beautiful reality that my life is a unique, unrepeatable adventure with God!

It is the greatest blessing that as I continue to let Love transform me, I get to share the Gospel with college students who so desperately long to be seen, known, and loved by their Creator. The last two years on mission have continued to confirm my faith in the reality of Jesus’ saving power and deepen my conviction that every baptized Christian is called to be a missionary disciple. I truly have the best job in the world.
