I will be serving the students of Northern Michigan University alongside my teammates Danni, Sam, and Nick! I am so excited to see what God has planned for us in Marquette. Go Wildcats!

Though I was born and raised Catholic, I never truly understood my faith growing up. After many ups and downs, I had decided I no longer believed in God by my junior year of high school. I explored countless belief systems and practices, fell into sin, and experienced some of the most miserable years of my life. I started college at Indiana University as a broken soul, lost in the world. By the grace of God and through a Eucharistic encounter with Jesus, I had a strong reversion in the summer after my freshman year. Like the father of the Prodigal Son, He brought me home with open arms! I was found!

As I entered back into the Church that fall, I met the missionaries serving at my campus and was invited into a FOCUS Bible study. As time went on, I joined a discipleship group and got more involved with the IU Newman Center. The Lord began reshaping and healing my heart and, for the first time in my life, I began to truly understand His love for me.

At the beginning of my senior year, I started leading a Bible study and discipleship group of my own. I was privileged to walk with a group of girls that God placed in my path, each of whom taught me even more about God’s love. I came into the semester with an internal invitation to apply to FOCUS, which I had been considering since the previous semester. Deep down, I felt that I was being called to mission, but I was terrified of the unknowns.

When I interviewed in December, I was very unsure of what path I was on. However, one sentiment that I heard that weekend spoke to me – it didn’t matter where I went, it only mattered who I became. Immediately, I knew that the only path I was meant for in that moment was working with FOCUS. It was the only path that gave me peace and that would push me closer to Christ. When I got the call a few weeks later, the Holy Spirit spoke through me and I said yes on the spot! Here I am now, preparing to go out on mission at last!

However, my ‘yes’ could not be possible without yours! In saying yes to God’s call to FOCUS, I also said yes to relying on the spiritual and financial support of generous mission partners like you to walk alongside me.
