Where I serve

The Lord has called me to serve at San Diego State University! Go aztecs!! California has been my home for the past 8 years so I’m extremely excited I get to stay in this beautiful state, where I have the gift of encountering students. You’ll often find me reading, hiking or listening to music!

My Story

Growing up in Mexico City, being Catholic was rather a cultural norm. I checked all the boxes, did all the “right” things, all without understanding who God was nor His infinite and intentional love for me. Moving to the U.S in high school and being exposed to other religions made me start questioning my faith, which continued throughout high school and early college. I had a yearning for God I sought to satisfy in the wrong places, wanting for others to make me feel loved and validated.

But nothing ever truly satisfied this yearning of my heart, until I encountered Jesus in the Eucharist at a college retreat, while being a junior at Sacramento State. All the walls and doubts around my heart slowly came down, as I realized the reason for this restlessness – I was away from the One who loves beyond measure and who intentionally created me as a beloved daughter.

Becoming aware of His Love and discovering my identity in Him, led me to serve in my Newman center, lead confirmation retreats and become involved in my young adult community. Upon graduating college, I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Peru and to get involved with FOCUS through the SEEK conference, fully setting my heart ablaze for mission.

Ultimately, these two experiences confirmed this new season God was calling me into, one filled with trust and surrender! As a missionary, I seek to help others discover the abundance of the Father’s heart and their identity as beloved children! It will be an honor to delight in who they are and walk with them in this beautiful journey towards heaven.
