My life has been a series of small, beautiful encounters with Jesus meeting me where I was at, and because of that, I am forever changed!

I am grateful that my parents raised us in the Catholic faith, and I attended Catholic middle and high school, but my faith was never really important to me, until I attended a high school retreat and had a powerful encounter with our Eucharistic Lord in Adoration. It was there that He showed me that He had always been loving me and pursuing my heart. I had never known how personally He loved me. That was where I decided that I wanted a personal relationship with Jesus.

I attended college at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, and there the Lord continued to pursue my heart, on an even deeper level. There, I met some of my closest friends and encountered the true beauty of Catholic community through Bible Studies and Discipleship. I encountered God as my Father, and He began to show me the lonely places of my heart, where I was perfectionistic and self-reliant. He slowly poured His love and mercy into those areas, and is still doing that to this day! I learned that the Father loves me deeply, even in my weakness. I learned to surrender fully to Him, and while I still have to make that choice every day, the Father has shown me that He is with me in all that I do, and that He is taking care of me. He has established in me my identity as His Daughter.

My favorite Bible verse is Revelation 21:5, which says, “Behold, I am making all things new.” I think that this perfectly describes my own story; one of small responses to the invitations of the Lord, and a testament to the Father’s continual pursuit of our hearts. In my own ministry, I hope to be someone who students can walk with towards a deeper relationship with Christ and true community. I desire for them to know that they too can be made new, and how deeply they are loved and wanted by their Father!

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world.” -Matthew 28:19-20

When I answered the call to serve with FOCUS, I made a choice to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners- incredible people like YOU who desire to join me on this mission to fulfill the Great Commission! College campuses are filled with young people searching for meaning and making some of life’s most pivotal decisions. Now is the time to make disciples!
