We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Tell [all people], My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls”
“Jesus, I Trust in You”
– Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska
It’s time for me to head up to the mountains and experience life as a Mountaineer! 💙💛 I’ll be serving as a first-time FOCUS missionary at West Virginia University! LET’S GO MOUNTAINEERS!
I am beyond excited to see how the Lord will move and work through this new adventure, and I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you. Please keep me, the students at WVU, and my mission team in your prayers as we trust God with all He has in store this year!
My new teammates: Patrick, Mary Mitch, and Gabriel
Growing up Catholic, faith was always part of my life, but over time God showed me that He desired a much deeper relationship with me. My first real encounter with Jesus was at my local parish’s Divine Mercy Encounter Retreat, in Erie, PA where I experienced for the first time what it was like to be on fire for the Lord. However, as I headed to college for my undergraduate at George Mason University (GMU) in Fairfax VA, to study Social Work, I chose to step away from this religion. During this time, I found myself distant from the life of the Church and unsure of where God fit into my daily life. Even so, the Lord never stopped pursuing me.
It wasn’t short after where I was encountered by a FOCUS Missionary who asked me “what is holding you back from saying yes to what God is inviting you into?” At that moment, I realized that there was a deep longing in my heart that was desiring a relationship with Jesus. I decided to say yes to what the Lord was calling me to do and joined George Mason’s Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM). My heart began to start a fire for mission, desiring everyone I encountered to know the wonderful person that Jesus is. Continuing on through my four years at GMU, I have encountered joyful FOCUS missionaries who lived out their faith with intentionality and love for the students around them. Their witness and joy showed me what it looked like to walk with others in their relationship with Christ which ultimately deepened my own desire to do the same. This pure joy is what lead me to become a FOCUS missionary. I am excited to walk with college students, share the love of Christ with them, and help them encounter the same Lord who has never stopped pursuing me and continues to draw me deeper into His heart each day.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I said yes to relying on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. As missionaries we have the privilege of walking with students on their journey toward Jesus. This opportunity to trust in the Lord’s faithfulness and providence is both humbling and rewarding. Although not everyone can do this in a direct way, supporting the mission and making it possible for me to reach students is just as important! If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
