Where I serve

Currently, I serve at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. I recently graduated from the University of Montana in 2024 and God has blessed me with the opportunity to join FOCUS as a full time missionary.

My Story

I grew up in a Catholic household and attended Catholic school my whole life, but I was never interested in the faith. We never practiced the faith outside of attending church service. I looked at the faith as a set of rules to follow, and most of the time, I wasn’t very interested in following the rules. Fast forward to college, I decided to attend the University of Montana to play football. On the team, I struggled in knowing who I actually was. I placed my identity in sports my whole life, and in my first year, I was struggling in playing football. Not only did this make me feel like I had completely lost who I was, and it caused me to look for my identity elsewhere.

I thought I would find it in the party lifestyle. I started to slack in school and on the football field and entered the party culture deeper and deeper, which ultimately led to me quitting football. In my junior year in college, I was utterly lost, with no identity and nothing to fall back on. It took a lot of self-reflection to understand that I was going nowhere fast with my life.

When the new year came, the Holy Spirit led me to attend church for the first time since high school. I went to church on the first Sunday of the new year, and I had this giant pit in my stomach, like the pit you get before a speech or a football game. I felt I did not belong in the church, so why even go? But as soon as the Father gave his homily, I knew God was talking to me. He said,

Don’t wait to be perfect to come to God, but rather come to God to become perfect.  ”

This is precisely what I needed to hear. I met a FOCUS missionary on my campus that night, and God changed my life through him. About nine months later, and I was leading a bible study and discipleship with my FOCUS missionary. He asked about two months into discipleship if I wanted to be interviewed to be a FOCUS missionary, and I said yes. If you had told me two years ago that I would be here, I wouldn’t have believed you, but God’s plan is a mystery. I would not have realized his plan for me without meeting my FOCUS missionary. Now, as a missionary myself, I hope to help change the lives of other men feeling that same lost feeling I had by teaching them the true love and faithfulness of God, and by walking with them on their journeys to heaven.

Your Impact

When God called me to join FOCUS, He blessed me with the opportunity to bring spiritual and financial supporters on mission with me. God calls people to serve by having them go on mission and by having them support the mission. By supporting me you will give me the opportunity to be more available to the people I will be serving. If you are interested in joining mission with me, please reach out at 406-533-5976 or [email protected] and we can schedule a time to meet and discuss this unique and necessary mission. It would be a blessing to share and join the mission with you.
