Hello, I am filled with gratitude to serve God and invite you in this mission!

My name is Michael, I’m a first-year missionary with FOCUS. I have been called to serve at Texas A&M – Kingsville. As a collegiate missionary, I will embark on a thrilling journey, walking alongside students and helping deepen their faith and relationship with Jesus. My Story

As I entered college seeking the “college experience” through social gatherings along with chasing the truths of the phenomena on the universe through Mechanical Engineering, at the end of the day I still felt lonely and empty. My body, mind, and soul were aching for a greater fulfillment and truth.

Two years ago, I began attending the Catholic center at our campus and was spiritually hungry. Grateful for the community and Ministry leaders, I grew more knowledgeable in scripture and by the end of the year had a zeal for souls. During the summer break I prayed that this growth and knowledge that I obtained was not the end. During this time of transition from finding my identity in Christ and discerning a vocation, a team of FOCUS missionaries was announced to serve at UTRGV. As the semester began, I began to admire the prayer habits and life of the missionaries until one day a Missionary invited me to live out the very mission as a disciple of Jesus Christ. From here I began to live out the faith through fellowship, prayer, and devotion in ways that once seemed impossible.

I truly believe that the teachings FOCUS provides are something we can take and apply for the rest of our lives. Having led at least one bible study and pursuing missionary work with FOCUS, I am enamored with the love and great promises of Jesus Christ working through his disciples who live closely to his teachings.

It’s truly how Christ lived his mission, how he called his Apostles to live, and how Paul tells us a Christian workers to live.
