I had my reversion back to the faith my senior year of high school, and so going into college I was yearning for catholic community, which is something I lacked growing up. The second person I ever met at West Virginia University was a focus missionary. She was standing outside the church after mass with a warm smile on her face. She got my number and continued to be a warm soul that welcomed me into the community. The missionaries on campus ended up becoming great friends in my life, friends that were willing my good, and striving for virtue. The girls I met in my freshman year focus bible study, where we bonded and grew in love of the Lord together, are also now my close friends. Applying and becoming a missionary I kept coming back to that thought of authentic friendship and encountering others with love as Jesus does for us all. I hope to do this for other young women at Wake Forest and wherever God calls me.
