We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Hi! I’m Nathan and I am a Varsity Catholic FOCUS missionary.
Thank you for all of your support, and prayers!
This year, I will be serving at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I’m very excited to be close to home (Chaska, MN) and to have the opportunity to work primarily with student-athletes on campus through Varsity Catholic collegiate outreach. As a former collegiate athlete myself, I am passionate about helping young men bring Christ onto the playing field and into every aspect of their lives!
I entered my first year of college with only two things in mind: to be the best baseball player on my team and to have as much fun as possible along the way. Christ wasn’t in the picture at all. For the first two years, I stayed focused on those goals and as a result, my grades, relationships, and health all suffered. Most of all, I felt like nothing I did really mattered.
That’s when Jesus found me, right when everything I had once prioritized had fallen apart. His invitation came through a Bible study led by Jack Perala, the Varsity Catholic missionary whose invitation I had turned down many times before. But this time, I reluctantly said yes and attended my first meeting.
From that moment on something changed. As I began to understand the plan Christ had for my life, my sense of purpose, value, and identity came alive. I realized that even the hardships I had faced could be used for something greater. Everything I did suddenly had meaning. And with that, I discovered my mission: to make disciples of all nations and to help guide others to Christ in His Church.
As a mission partner, YOU are directly changing the lives of those reached on campus through your thoughtful donations, and from your prayers! The mission of making disciples of ALL nations (Matthew 28:19–20, the Great Commission) cannot be made possible without both missionaries AND mission partners.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
