We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
Close to the end of my semester at Clemson University, completing my degree in Biological Sciences I accepted my offer as FOCUS missionary. I will be serving at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
I was raised in a Catholic household; always going to mass on Sunday, praying the rosary every now and then, and received all my sacraments. Through all of that however, I never had a true understanding of the Catholic faith or a relationship with God.
When I arrived at Clemson University, I immediately found a community with the Catholic Student Association, later renamed Catholic Tigers. I avoided Bible study all first semester, but later went to Seek ’23 and found that there was something deeper to the Catholic faith. Upon returning in the spring I joined a Bible study and went to Lima, Peru on mission with FOCUS over spring break, finding a love for Mission. From there I was locked in and started to fall in love with God and the Faith.
I served all summers off college with LifeTeen Summer Missions, where my relationship with Christ grew. Come my senior year I applied to FOCUS with the mindset of “I cannot discern something I have not been invited into”. I received an offer and after praying with the option I accepted on a cold Monday and felt at peace with my decision.
I’m excited for this next chapter, to serve Christ as his hands and feet, and to embark on this adventure that Christ has in store.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
