God has called me to serve college students at Nicholls State University. You’ll typically find me hanging out at the university cafe, the Newman Center, or high-fiving people around campus. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life — I think you should hear it sometime! Come find me and I’d love to share it with you. 🙂

Throughout my time growing up, there were many events that occurred in my life that left me with strong unmet desires to be seen, known and loved fully. In high school, I turned to many different idols to try to fill this unending void in my heart. The grasping I experienced only left me more empty. I can safely say I hit a rock bottom while leaving my senior year of high school. Everything that I had built my identity and worth in, came crashing down and the things that I was using to try to save me stopped doing the trick. Over the summer of 2019, the Lord encountered me in a very real way through the power of Eucharistic Adoration and Confession and revealed to me that he was waiting for me at that rock bottom. 

Following this encounter, I arrived at SFASU hungry to find whatever Catholic club or organization that was offered because I knew from my experience that this is where God resides. After going to a daily mass my first week of my freshman year, I was introduced to a FOCUS missionary. This man invited me into my first authentic friendship. I was confident that this man wanted the best for me and I did not owe him anything. With his help and the gift of the community of St. Mary’s at SFA, that school year I came to learn what it means to be in a relationship with Christ and how that has an impact on my whole life. The Lord truly has poured out his grace upon me throughout my time in college and I am convicted “to whom much has been given, much is expected” (Luke 12:48). Christ thirsts for the souls of every human being in the whole world to know him and to be set free by him. College students are the future leaders of our society and by reaching them and inviting them into a deeper relationship with their Father, Christ will set the world on fire. 

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
