Ryan McCauley

I grew up in a loving family as the youngest of three brothers. From an early age, my family brought me to Mass every Sunday, instilling values and foundations of faith that stayed with me throughout my life.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, however, I began to drift away from my faith and pursue the fleeting pleasures of the world. My identity no longer belonged to Christ, but instead became rooted in the opinions and approval of others. In college, I joined a fraternity and immersed myself more deeply in the empty promises that our culture claims will satisfy us: “Do what feels good,” or “Live your own truth.”

Yet the deeper I pursued those things, the emptier I became. I found myself looking in the mirror and no longer recognizing the man I had become.

But by the grace of God, Christ encountered me in the midst of my brokenness. He called me back to Himself and reminded me that I was His beloved son. Through reclaiming my identity in Him, I experienced a freedom I had never known before, a freedom to truly love. My heart was transformed in such a profound way that my only response became the desire to give away the love that I had first received.

During college, I spent two years living in a Catholic men’s household where we intentionally pursued virtue and sought to become men conformed to the image of Christ. Through daily prayer, authentic brotherhood, and a deep sacramental life, I began to hear the Lord’s call to mission.

Now, I have the opportunity to accompany men who are longing for the love of Christ, helping them encounter the Lord and discover their true identity as beloved sons of God.
