We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
– 2 Corinthians 3:17
When the Lord put the desire to be a missionary on my heart, I responded “yes” to wherever he would call me to go to share the Gospel. As our Father is so good, he knew my deep love for Jayhawks and has called me to serve at my alma mater, the University of Kansas, for the upcoming fall semester! Rock Chalk! I feel honored to serve Jayhawks as a full-time missionary with the team at KU. God is abundantly blessing the students on this campus with a heart for mission, and it is a gift to serve and witness them.
From the time I was a young girl, I had a deep desire to inspire others to live for something greater than the world had to offer. As I encountered Jesus in the Eucharist during my time in high school, I began to realize that the “something greater” was Jesus Christ himself.
When I arrived at KU my freshman year, the Holy Spirit had completely ignited my heart with a desire to share the truth of the Gospel with my peers. As I continued to pursue a daily prayer life and committed myself to serving the St. Lawrence Center through various ministries, I realized that the radical way in which I had committed my life to serving the Lord was attractive to students on my campus.
I began to lead my own Bible study and disciple other women during my sophomore year at KU. Throughout this experience, I encountered the Lord’s deep love for me as I led the women He placed in my life towards Him. As I watched them commit their own lives to Christ, I became convicted that by intentionally investing deeply in a few and sending them out to share the Gospel is biblical and effective.
As I have witnessed these women grow in their devotion to prayer and authentic friendship, I am inspired by the way that the Lord calls each of us to live as missionary disciples. The Lord in all His perfect ways has led me to say “yes” to the call to be a FOCUS missionary and has made my little girl dreams come true by providing an opportunity to lead others to something greater: Jesus Christ.
It is a gift to be able to be sent by Jesus on mission to college students, but I cannot do it without the prayers and financial support of generous mission partners, like YOU! Through your participation in this mission, I believe that Jesus will abundantly bless not only the lives of the students on campus, but your own life as well. Your generosity is blessed and multiplied by the Holy Spirit. I feel honored that you have chosen to believe in and support the work of my team at KU. But more importantly, that you have decided to trust in God’s plan for the Jayhawks that we will reach.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
