This fall, I’ll be serving at the University of Idaho for my first semester as a missionary and my last semester of nursing school. It’s such a gift to be back on campus with the Vandal community, and especially to continue walking alongside sorority women as they grow in their relationship with Christ.

Avery, Mathias, and I are excited for our first year of mission at Idaho!

My story begins like many others. I grew up in a kinda Catholic home and didn’t really know Jesus or actively practice my faith. I couldn’t wait to graduate high school, leave my old life behind, and finally find happiness. But after a few months of living the typical freshman sorority lifestyle, I realized something was still missing.

I started going to Mass on campus and was invited to a FOCUS Bible study. I had no idea what FOCUS was, but I kept coming back because every time I left, I felt something different—something good. When I returned to campus the next fall, I was hungry for more of what I had experienced. I began attending Bible study regularly, spent more time with my missionary, and eventually went on my first retreat in the fall of 2023. There, I went to confession for the first time in over five years. I’ll never forget when the priest looked up at me and asked, “Do you want to be the woman God created you to be?” It was in this question I was given a choice to continue to live one foot in and one foot out, or to place Jesus Christ at the center of my life, and begin to live radically for Him. I knew to become this woman and to know Christ Jesus was worth this risk, so I said “Yes” to the Gospel for the first time. 

Since that moment, I’ve tried, failed, and tried again to become that woman and in this perseverance the Lord has graciously transformed my life and continued to calm the storms in my heart. As Psalm 103 says, “He redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with mercy and compassion.” Experiencing this redemption in my own life has stirred a deep desire to share it. I can’t help but think of my best friends and the women around me who also need to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel. As I step into this mission, my hope is to walk alongside women and introduce them to the same love and freedom I’ve found in Jesus Christ.
