Where I serve

Placement Day 2026 (Matthew, me, and Jacob)

I’m excited to share that I will be serving as a First-Year Missionary at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado! Over the next year, I will have the privilege of serving as an instrument of God’s love, accompanying cadets in their faith, and inviting them to know, love, and follow Christ more deeply.

My Story

I was raised in a joyful, loud, imperfect, Hispanic Catholic household. From a young age, I knew the truth of God’s existence and the beauty of His Church. As I grew older, especially during middle school, I began to experience the brokenness of our world. Influenced by culture, media, isolation, and the desire to be accepted, I gradually lost sight of my identity as a beloved daughter of God. Instead, I believed the false identities and lies that the enemy wanted me to accept as truth.

By high school, I felt empty and hungry for purpose. In my search for hope, Christ met me through Zoom theology classes during COVID and the faithful witness of a Catholic theology teacher. Like St. John the Baptist, he simply pointed me to Christ and the hope of the Resurrection.

When I entered college, I longed for authentic Catholic community and deeper formation. Through FOCUS and the UW Newman Center in Seattle, I encountered a young adult community that challenged me to know Christ more deeply and to live as His disciple. Patiently, God transformed my heart. Like the humble and messy stable of Bethlehem, He entered the broken places of my life and made them His dwelling place.

As I grew in faith, God gave me opportunities to accompany other students, and I realized that the same love I had received was meant to be shared. As a missionary at the United States Air Force Academy, I pray that every cadet I encounter will discover what Christ has so patiently shown me: that we are deeply loved, created with purpose, and invited into a life far greater than anything this world can offer.

Your Impact

Your role is truly one for the kingdom! A special part of the theo-drama God has planned! A beautiful example of what I see your impact is like, is when our Lord sent the Angel Gabriel and delivered the news to Mary’s of her to bear Christ into the world. She had no idea what would lie ahead and still, in faith, trusted. I pray she may be with you now as God comes to you in this little way, knowing your heart, asks for your “yes”, in total and utter freedom. To bear Christ to the world in this unique and intentional ministry.
