Where I serve

I’m excited to be serving as a FOCUS missionary at the Auraria Campus in Denver as part of the Bosco Project! At the Auraria Campus, we’ll be serving the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. I’ll begin this first year of mission with other men as part of the Denver Bosco team!

My Story

I grew up raised in the faith, but it mostly belonged to the Catholic school I attended. I loved hearing stories from the Bible during Mass, but never understood or felt God’s love for me. I longed for love, connection, and to be known by others. My deacon’s love for our class during my senior year helped me realize I had to make the Catholic faith my own, and I hoped that maybe God would fix my longing somehow.

Moving onto campus my freshman year of college, I took the first step toward living out my faith and met FOCUS missionaries and other students in the Newman Center. I began to find that only in God and those He has put in my life could I find satisfaction and fullness of life. Like David, I can say “O Lord, you have searched me and known me” (Psalms 139). During a FOCUS program called Summer Projects, I was struck to bring what I’ve learned and the joy I’ve received from the faith to others on my campus.

Christ has lit a fire in my heart to share the love I have received, and I hope to return the love of Christ, so that those I encounter may “have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10) and find in God what I longed so much for.
