The Lord has called me to serve the students at Florida International University!
I unexpectedly found myself in Waco, Texas attending St. Peter Catholic Student Center. It was there that I encountered students who loved God and weren’t afraid to show it. This was challenging for me because my Catholic faith was never the center of my life. I wore the “Catholic” badge but I wasn’t intentionally living my faith. I was invited to a retreat where I was blessed to encounter Jesus through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. God began to chip away at the hardness of my heart. I wanted to be all in. I wanted my faith to be my life.
Later on I had the most wonderful opportunity to lead and plan the same retreat that blessed me so much. After getting to lead I just wished I could do it over and over. The graces from this retreat seemed never ending. I also got to work at the Catholic center and I got a behind the scenes of campus ministry. The combination of these two experiences led me to realize I had a calling to minister to college students.
Serving with FOCUS is my way of giving the gift that I was given: the knowledge that I was made for more. I was made to have a relationship with the most loving, heavenly Father. I want every student that I encounter to have that same gift.
Many students arrive on campus searching for a greater purpose and a place to belong. With your support, I can walk alongside them as they journey through their faith.
Thank you for allowing me to encounter students to let them know of the love the Father has for them!

We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.

By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.

We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on.
